Taking a Journey

I'm excited that we started to take our first steps into the book.

Talking about steps, we spent some time today discussing the quote from the book, "Don't judge a man until you've walked two moons in his moccasins." It's an important quote and theme in the novel.

If you didn't have time in class, make sure you fill in and return the journal response that looks like a shoe. When you complete it, think of a role model or someone you admire.

In addition, I asked you to visit the blog to answer another journal prompt. As I mentioned in class, the book is about a girl who goes on a road trip. I'd like you to:

1. Press comment to this post
2) Tell me about the most exciting journey you've been on in five sentences. Tell me where you went, for how long with who and what made it so exciting. Again, try to make this into a five sentence response.
3) Make sure to put just your first name and last initial in your reply.

I look forward to reading your comments.

Last June, I took a trip to Peru to climb the Inca Trail. Ten friends and I all had the same goal of seeing Machu Picchu. This Inca city was built over 500 years ago, but was forgotten about after the Inca Empire fell and it wasn't rediscovered until 1911. It took four days to hike to Machu Picchu, and not being much of a camper, I wasn't sure I would cut it. But four days of stunning scenery, getting back to nature, and good times with friends made this trip an experience I'll never forget.

on February me and my family, went to a 3 week trip in New-Zeland. New Zeland is the most beautiful place Ive ever seen. We rent a caravan, and parked in a few places. One of them had a hill where we played hide and seek. We also saw a kiwi. On the first day, 2 of our caravans got stuck in the middle of a mountain.

When I was five years old my family and I went to Paris. It was one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to! I went to the Arc de Triomphe, where you could see all of district six and even beyond the Seine River! But, unfortunately the line for the Eiffel Tower was too long. Paris had the best pastries. Some of my favorites are tarts aux fruit, crème brûlée, chocolat mousse, and éclairs.

Last summer I went to Tahiti with my parents and sister.
During my stay I learnt how to Scuba Dive and had lessons everyday, during this time I also had to an Open Water Diver work book.
I was lucky enough to see Black Tipped Reef Sharks, Morey Eels, Sting Rays and many other exotic fish.
I also went Helmet Diving in the Lagoon.
This was the greatest experience because I got to try something new.

In Augest I went to Israel to see one of my friends who used to live in Hong Kong but moved back to Israel. I also saw my cousins while I was there. Witch was very very special because I did not see them for three years. The thing that changed my life was me relizing that I am very very lucky to have a helper and people in Israel don't. I also realized that when you go to the supermarket you need to load your own bags insted of someone doing it for you.
